The plastic pouch included in our loose tea boxes is currently not recyclable. To protect the integrity and freshness of the loose tea, we pack it into a plastic seal as it would otherwise be exposed to contaminants from the air such as moisture and odours. We appreciate that this choice of packaging may not suit all our consumers, therefore I have passed your concerns onto our Product Development Team for review.
You may be interested to know that we produce a vast range of loose leaf teas in tin caddies that provide a completely plastic-free alternative. These caddies are available to purchase in some supermarkets, our flagship store at 216 Strand in London and also via our online website.
