Black plastic trays (like the kind used for ready meals), PVC and styrofoam all fall into this category. Because these materials are difficult to process – either because they’re unrecyclable or recycling them is very expensive – they’re more likely to end up being dumped or burned.
The government can help stop the flow of plastic into our oceans by preventing these hard-to-process plastics from being made in the first place.
Sign the petition and tell the government to ban problem plastics by the end of 2019.
